Shooting in Tenleytown Today Washington, D.C. — A shooting near the CVS pharmacy in Tenleytown prompted a major emergency response Thursday afternoon after one person was found suffering from gunshot wounds near Wisconsin Avenue NW.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department and D.C. Fire and EMS, officers responded around 4:30 p.m. to the 4500 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW, near the Tenleytown-AU Metro Station and a busy shopping area that includes the CVS pharmacy.

First responders located one victim behind the CVS in a nearby alley or parking area. Authorities believe the victim is a teenage male or young adult, though officials had not publicly confirmed the individual’s exact age or identity as of Thursday evening.
