Authorities later announced that all three schools had been cleared and returned to normal operations after investigators determined the threats were likely part of a swatting hoax.
Parents and students flooded social media throughout the morning searching for updates as police vehicles were seen outside school campuses. Online discussions indicated that law enforcement officers remained calm while assessing the situation and ensuring student safety.
Swatting incidents involve false emergency reports intended to trigger large law enforcement responses, often causing fear, disruption, and significant public safety concerns. Schools across the United States have increasingly dealt with similar hoax threats in recent years.
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office continues investigating the origin of the calls. Authorities have not yet announced whether suspects have been identified or if criminal charges are expected.
District officials praised students, staff, first responders, and families for remaining patient and cooperative throughout the emergency response as the situation unfolded Monday morning.
