In another recent fatal incident on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Beaumont, authorities identified 18-year-old Salvador Ortiz of Rialto as the victim of a rollover crash that occurred during rainy conditions. Investigators said the driver may have lost control on the wet roadway before the vehicle slammed into the center divider and overturned across traffic lanes.

Traffic was also severely impacted in Jurupa Valley after a semi-truck and multiple vehicles collided on the westbound 60 Freeway near Valley Way. The crash forced the closure of all westbound lanes for a period of time and caused miles-long backups during the afternoon commute.
Additional reports from Ontario confirmed another fatal collision on the westbound Highway 60 near South Vineyard Avenue, where 20-year-old Angel Avila of Los Angeles was pronounced dead at the scene following an early morning crash investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities continue urging drivers to use caution along the 60 Freeway, especially during adverse weather and heavy traffic conditions, as investigations into the various crashes remain ongoing.
